How We Manage Outsourcing 

- The Model and Methods Followed

Since outsourcing is to get the most out of the Key Competencies of an organisation, we focus on this on all aspects of the functioning of our organisation. In particular, we ourselves take advantage of this by outsourcing many parts of our work. Web Network has adopted a model for outsourcing management as given in the Figure below.

For your effective utilization of our development team, we manage the outsourced Projects in the following manner. This is followed to have a strong offshore development partnership.

The Project Flow

The general Flow of the Project Development Outsourcing Process is as given below. Please note that this is different from any particular Project management process (e.g.: RUP, Agile, etc.) that is followed by the team members for the particular project.

  1. Initial Set up

    3. Finalising the criteria for selecting Project Members
    4. Appointing the contact person for the Project
  2. Setting up the team
    1. Pre selection of team
    2. Allowing clients to interview and finalise the team
    3. Setting up the hierarchy in the team
    4. Briefing the team about the Projects, Goals, Terms and Conditions
    5. Briefing the team about the Particular Project Management Methodology followed by the client.
  3. Training – (For specialized projects)
    1. Starting any training needed (if any)
    2. Allowing clients to access and interact with the training process
  4. Setting up the Infrastructure
    1. Set up the place for project development
    2. Set up the Hardware, Software, etc. for Development
  5. Starting Development
    1. Assigning jobs and responsibilities and targets
    2. Starting the development.
    3. Appointing the person responsible for reports.
  6. Managing the Development Process
    1. Regular reporting of Project Status
    2. Regular transferring of deliverables
    3. Periodic evaluation of the Out Sourced Development Process
  7. Projects that Terminate
    1. Transferring all deliverables
    2. Briefing future projects the client may require from the Project members.
